Getting Started

Step 1: Create an Account and Connect

Login with your email or cloud provider here.

Connect your repositories and select Automated Code Review during onboarding. See Cloud Integrations for more information on connecting your repositories for different providers.

Your parent repository/organization in your cloud provider in the PullRequest app is called an Organization. All connected repositories in your organization are called Projects.

Step 2: Set Your Preferences

Select which projects you would like to enable Automated Code Review for.

Note: Larger projects can take extra time to sync for the first time. Once at least one project has finished, you can continue, and enable Automation for other projects later in Project Settings.

Step 3: View Open Pull Requests

Select a Project (repository) and navigate to existing pull requests. All open pull requests are displayed by selecting the "Pull Requests" tab from the Organization or Project sidebar on the left side of the screen.

Navigate into any pull request to view code changes from any commit and resolve issues found.

Step 4: Daily Workflow

PullRequest Automated Code Review is now integrated into your development workflow! Here is a simple example of how to use it in your daily workflow.

  • Open a pull request to start a code review of a new feature.

  • View build statuses with issue counts in your cloud provider for every pull request. (GitHub shown here)

  • Navigate to the PullRequest platform by clicking Details to view and take action on issues found.

    • Fix issues and push a new commit. New builds will run automatically on new commits.

    • Snooze issues that you want to fix later. They will reappear in future pull requests.

    • Disable issues that you don't want to see again for all pull requests in this project.

  • Re-enable disabled rules from Automation Config.
